Why can't the browser extension or URL block pull my link?
Edit in CMSWhen you save a page with the browser extension or add a link with the URL block, Letterhead crawls the page to pull its title, excerpt, and image. If you get an error or an empty block, the site is usually blocking that crawl — commonly a paywall, a login wall, or crawler restrictions on the site itself.
Test the link
Section titled “Test the link”Paste the link into opengraph.xyz. If OpenGraph can’t read the page either, the limitation is on the site’s side — Letterhead can only pull information from sites that allow crawling.
Safelist Letterhead’s crawler
Section titled “Safelist Letterhead’s crawler”If it’s your own site (or you can reach the site’s administrator), safelist these domains so Letterhead’s crawler can access the content:
*.tryletterhead.comletterhead.emailletterhead.ai
Letterhead’s crawler is named LetterheadCurationBot, with this user agent:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; LetterheadCurationBot/1.0; +http://tryletterhead.com/bots)If a page still won’t pull, you can always add the article manually and fill in the title, excerpt, and image yourself.
