Letterhead's Recipient Validation

Edit in CMS

Recipient Validation is a built-in feature that keeps your subscriber list clean by verifying the validity of new email addresses before they join your audience.

  • Validates new subscribers automatically — addresses added via CSV import, embed form, or your archive page are checked before being added to your audience.
  • Runs daily in the background — validation runs every 24 hours and targets only unvalidated emails.
  • Improves list health and deliverability — prevents sending to mistyped or fake addresses, protecting your sender reputation and reducing bounce rates.

Invalid emails are marked with a cleaned status.

  • Custom signup pages are not supported — validation does not apply to addresses submitted through custom-built signup forms.
  • No re-validation of existing subscribers — only new or unvalidated entries are checked.

Recipient Validation is a paid premium feature. It can apply across your whole organization (every channel) or be scoped to a specific channel — for example, to test it on one newsletter first. Reach out to your Account Manager to enable it and choose the scope.

  • Protect your sender reputation
  • Avoid sending to invalid or fake addresses
  • Reduce bounce-related suppressions and delivery issues
