Clicks dashboard
Edit in CMSThe Content tab of the Dashboard (under Analytics → Dashboard) shows per-link click performance across your newsletters and channels, helping you identify which content and calls to action drive the most subscriber engagement.
What you can see
Section titled “What you can see”- Topics — a rollup by Topic showing the Clicks they earned and the Trend over time, so you can see which subjects are earning attention.
- Clicks — a table of every link clicked in the selected period, aggregated across your sends. Each row shows the destination URL (with the page title beneath it), the link’s Topics, and its Unique Clicks and Total Clicks, so you can rank which stories, buttons, and sponsor placements earned attention. Links without a topic show as Untagged.
Use the date picker in the dashboard header to choose a time period (up to 90 days; the default is the last 30 days), and the filter to narrow to specific newsletters or channels.
What readers want
Section titled “What readers want”Click counts tell you what did well. What readers want tells you what to do next: for each topic, it compares the share of links you publish on that topic against the share of clicks your readers give it. Where it’s on, it takes the place of the Topics and Clicks tables wherever you open the Content tab.
Each topic gets a row with:
- Published vs. clicked — two bars, one above the other. The upper bar is the topic’s share of the links you published in the period; the lower bar is its share of the clicks. The bars are scaled against the biggest share in the list, so compare the two bars with each other rather than reading their length as a percentage; the exact figures are written underneath (for example, Published 12% · Clicked 20%).
- Published links — how many different links on the topic you published.
- Clicks — the clicks those links earned.
- A label that sums up the comparison:
- Readers want more — the topic earns a noticeably bigger share of clicks than of your links. You may be under-sharing it.
- Readers want less — the topic takes up a noticeably bigger share of your links than of your readers’ clicks. You may be over-sharing it.
- About right — the two shares are within about 15% of each other, so there’s nothing to act on.
Topics are ordered by the gap between their clicked share and their published share, largest first, so the topics most in demand relative to what you publish lead the list and the most over-shared come last. The list shows five topics per page.
A link tagged with more than one topic counts toward each of them, in both the published share and the clicked share, so the two are always measured the same way and can be compared directly. The date picker and the newsletter or channel filter in the dashboard header work here just as they do for the rest of the tab.
Compare and optimize
Section titled “Compare and optimize”Review click performance across periods to spot links, topics, and placements that consistently perform best, then use those insights to shape future layouts and CTA placement. For a visual, in-context view of a single send’s clicks, use the click heat map or the heatmap overlay on a published newsletter.
