Audience Profile Activity Log

Edit in CMS

Every contact’s profile gives you an individual-level view of engagement. Profile details sit on one side of the page; the activity log sits alongside them. For everything else you can do on the Audience page, see Working in Audience.

  • Opens and clicks — every newsletter open and link click, which you can filter by Opens or Clicks, sort by Newest or Oldest, and search by newsletter or link.
  • Bounces — hard and soft bounces appear in the timeline with the reason reported by the mail server and the date it happened. See Understanding bounces.
  • Purchases — purchases made through a connected Stripe account appear with the product name, not just the amount paid.
  • IP addresses — each open and click shows the IP address Letterhead saw for it, and the profile details show the most recent IP address for the contact. Automated opens and clicks from mailbox-provider prefetch and security scanners are excluded, so the addresses reflect real activity.

Clicking a link entry takes you to the link the reader clicked; clicking a newsletter entry takes you to that newsletter’s metrics.

The profile’s engagement card totals up the contact’s:

  • Opens
  • Clicks
  • Promotion clicks — how many promotional links or ads they’ve clicked, useful for understanding which readers respond to sponsored content
  • Bounces — hard and soft bounce counts

When does the data start recording? The activity log records from the moment the Audience Profile page launched. Opens and clicks from before then don’t appear.

How long is data kept? Activity data is kept for up to 12 months per contact.

Who can access this feature? Anyone with permission to view audience profiles, including Organization Admins and Channel Admins. If you don’t see a profile, ask your admin.

Still can’t find what you need? Contact support.
