Monitor a running automation
Edit in CMSOnce an automation is running, the workflow canvas doubles as a live dashboard. Open any active automation and you can see how it’s performing — who’s in it, where they are, and how each email is doing — without switching views or entering edit mode.
For the full picture of what Automations can do, see Working in Automations.
Journey and enrollment metrics
Section titled “Journey and enrollment metrics”The automation’s starting card shows live totals that update as subscribers move through the flow:
- Journeys — created, currently running, and finished
- Subscribers — enrolled, in progress, and completed
Use these to gauge an automation’s reach and activity at a glance.
Subscriber counts on every step
Section titled “Subscriber counts on every step”Counts appear directly on the canvas:
- Delay steps show how many subscribers are currently waiting and how many have already passed through — useful for spotting bottlenecks or confirming your timing works as intended.
- Branches show how many subscribers took each path, so you can verify your conditions split the audience the way you expect.
If one branch has far fewer subscribers than expected, review its criteria to make sure the logic matches your intent.
See who’s at each step
Section titled “See who’s at each step”Select any step in a running automation to view the subscribers currently at that step and those who have already moved past it — each with their name, email, and status. This lets you confirm the right people are receiving your messages and find anyone who seems stuck.
Email performance per step
Section titled “Email performance per step”Select any Send Email step to see performance aggregated across every run of the automation:
- Sends and successful deliveries
- A breakdown of bounces
- The links readers clicked most in that email
No need to piece together individual journey runs — each step reports its complete history.
View configuration without editing
Section titled “View configuration without editing”A running automation also displays its full configuration in read-only form: the newsletters and links it watches and the criteria on each branch (match mode, tags, profile fields, newsletters). You can audit or document the setup without risking an accidental change, and switch to edit mode only when you actually want to change something.
If something looks wrong
Section titled “If something looks wrong”Check the Automations Errors Table to see failed automations and why they failed, or send yourself a test email from any step.
