Organization Administrator Quick Start Guide
Edit in CMSWelcome! As an organization administrator, you have the keys to everything: every channel, every organization setting, and all the tools your channel administrators and content contributors use. This guide walks you through setup in the order that gets you to your first send fastest.
1. Log in and secure your account
Section titled “1. Log in and secure your account”- Your invitation arrives by email. Add [email protected] to your contacts so your login credentials don’t land in spam.
- At the login screen, enter your email — if you don’t have a password yet, use Forgot password to set one.
- Letterhead requires multi-factor authentication. See Setting up MFA.

2. Know what you can access
Section titled “2. Know what you can access”Organization administrators have all the permissions of channel administrators and content contributors, plus organization-wide settings and dashboards — see the full permissions breakdown. That includes:
- Analytics dashboard — cross-channel audience growth and delivery performance.
- Audience — search contacts by channel, name, or status; tags and segments. See Working in Audience.
- Emails and Templates — full access to create, schedule, and send. See Working in Emails.
- Curations — pull in content via RSS feeds, the browser extension, WordPress, or API. See Working in Curations.
- Automations — welcome series and recurring sends. See Working in Automations.
- Promotions — run promotions across multiple channels. See Working in Promotions.
- Reports — custom reports across any period. See Working in Reports.
- Teams — add or remove users and assign roles.
- Settings — API keys, integrations, sending domains, webhooks, and audience policies. See Working in Settings.
3. Set up your organization
Section titled “3. Set up your organization”- Configure your sending domain — protect deliverability before your first send. See Working in Settings.
- Review each channel’s settings — branding, sender name and email, timezone, and social links. See Managing Your Channel Settings.
- Set your audience policies — options like Double Opt-in are enforced at the organization level for every channel.
- Connect your tools — email service providers, Stripe, and Zapier. See Working in Integrations.
4. Invite your team
Section titled “4. Invite your team”Add team members in your organization’s Teams area and assign each person a role — organization administrator, channel administrator, or content contributor. Assign channel-level roles for people who should only touch specific newsletters.
5. Bring in your audience
Section titled “5. Bring in your audience”Import subscribers via CSV (with tags) or embed a signup form on your site. Then organize with tags and segments. Start with Working in Audience.
6. Your first send
Section titled “6. Your first send”- Create a newsletter from a template, write, and schedule it — see Working in Emails.
- Set up a welcome letter so new subscribers hear from you automatically — see Working in Automations.
- After it sends, check your Analytics dashboard and build a report in Reports.
