Working in Promotions
Edit in CMSPromotions is where you monetize newsletters: set up ad templates, create campaigns, and place sponsorships across your channels. The page has three tabs.
Promotion Schedule
Section titled “Promotion Schedule”A calendar view of all your scheduled promotions across channels. Place promotions manually, use the 2-column Promotion block for side-by-side layouts, or turn on Auto Inject to insert promotions into predefined spots (header, hero, mid-body, bottom, footer) without drag-and-drop. Company-level promotions can auto-inject into every send.
Campaigns
Section titled “Campaigns”A list of all your campaigns with search and filtering. Create new campaigns, manage existing ones, and edit organization-wide campaigns centrally. Company-Level Promotions let you run campaigns across multiple channels from one place.
Letterhead ships four default promotion types, each with required fields for promoters to complete. HTML promotions support custom code — including pasted ad tags like Google Ad Manager — rendered safely in the sent email. Letterhead cleans the pasted markup for safety, stripping scripts and other unsafe parts while keeping your links, images, and the ad’s own click tracking intact — so a pasted ad serves and counts its clicks the way it’s meant to. See How to use HTML Promotions. A browser extension copies a promotion’s HTML for use in other tools.
Analytics
Section titled “Analytics”Tracks impressions, clicks, and click-through rate company-wide — see which promotions are driving the most engagement. The insights view ranks your promotions by how well they’re doing — your top performers by click-through rate, your most-clicked promotions, and the newsletter-and-promotion pairings that drew the most engagement, all in one place. Learn more about Promotions analytics.
Lifecycle
Section titled “Lifecycle”Clone promotions, set them inactive, auto-expire by date, or end a running promotion early from the Actions menu. When a promotion is running with auto-expire turned on, you can mark it inactive yourself before its scheduled end — pulling it out of rotation right away instead of waiting for the expiry date; this may need to be enabled for your account — contact support. Promotion clicks also appear in your company analytics and on individual contact profiles; the Promotion Clicks card in the company analytics overview includes a period-over-period comparison so you can track whether promotion engagement is trending up or down.
Who sees what
Section titled “Who sees what”Promotions is admin/ad-manager territory — contributors typically won’t see it. If an option isn’t visible, check with your admin.
What this page doesn’t cover
Section titled “What this page doesn’t cover”Newsletter content and layout live in Emails; audience targeting lives in Audience; company analytics live in Analytics.
