Promotion lifecycle: clone, auto-expire, set inactive
Edit in CMSLetterhead makes it easy to reuse and retire promotions throughout their lifecycle: clone them, set them inactive, or let them expire automatically on a date you choose. These actions are available from a promotion’s Actions menu. For everything the Promotions area can do, see Working in Promotions.
Clone a promotion
Section titled “Clone a promotion”Cloning saves time when you want to run a similar promotion again with updated terms or targeting. From Promotions, open the Actions menu on the promotion, clone it, then review the copy’s details — name, dates, offer terms — and save.
Set a promotion inactive
Section titled “Set a promotion inactive”Inactive promotions stop displaying to subscribers but keep their data and configuration for future reference. Open the promotion and switch it to inactive, and it leaves rotation. You can reactivate it later, or use this to end a running promotion early before its scheduled expiry.
Auto-expire by date
Section titled “Auto-expire by date”Set an end date on a promotion and it automatically becomes inactive on that date — no manual intervention needed. This pairs well with sold campaigns that have fixed run windows. Auto-expiry and early ending may need to be enabled for your account — contact support.
