What Permissions Does the Channel Administrator Have?

Edit in CMS

Channel administrators have access to everything within the channel(s) they’re assigned to, including newsletters, audience, automations, and settings. However, they cannot access organization-level settings like global reports or adding team members across channels — attempting to open the organization shows an error message.

Within their channel, they see Analytics, Audience, Emails, Promotions, Reports, and Settings.

Shows the last 30 days of audience growth for the assigned channel.

Channel admins can fully manage contacts and audience organization:

  • Audience: add, delete, and modify contacts; upload/export CSVs
  • Segments: create and manage audience segments
  • Tags: add, edit, or delete tags for better contact organization

See Working in Audience.

Full access to newsletter creation, automation, and content curation:

  • Emails: create from scratch, use a template, or copy a past edition — see Working in Emails
  • Automations: set up, edit, activate, or delete newsletter automations — see Working in Automations
  • Curations: manage the curations library and content blocks for curated sections — see Working in Curations
  • Templates: create and customize reusable newsletter templates

Channel admins can configure all channel-level settings (but not organization-level settings). Channel Settings has four sections:

  • General: logo, description, timezone, website links, contact info, and social profiles
  • Sending emails: sender details, sending domain, look and feel (fonts and colors), and archive visibility. Organization-enforced Audience Policies like Double Opt-in appear here but are changed by an organization administrator.
  • Integrations: connect channel tools and embed subscribe forms
  • Pages: manage the channel’s signup page and embedded form

For details, see Managing Your Channel Settings.

  • Access to organization settings
  • Managing other team members
  • Viewing org-wide dashboards, audience, or promotions

For the other roles, see Organization Administrator permissions and Content Contributor permissions.
