How can I connect my Letterhead account to Zapier?

Learn how to connect Letterhead with Zapier and what you can do once you have connected them.

When to use the Letterhead Zap to sync data from other apps

  • If you use a Zapier-supported external membership app, such as Memberful or Pico, to manage audience member data. 
  • If you use a Zapier-supported CRM, such as Salesforce, to manage audience member data.
  • If you are migrating to Letterhead slowly from a Zapier-supported ESP, such as Mailchimp, but haven't yet updated to Letterhead's subscription forms.
  • Non-technical or low-tech customers who want to send content from CMS into Letterhead curations without coding

  • If you want an easy low-technical option to send content from your CMS and have it added automatically to your curations section for use in your newsletter.

What triggers are available for Letterhead in Zapier?

  • Audience member created or updated (Any profile field): If an audience member is updated (i.e. his subscription status changes, or his birthday is updated in Letterhead), you can trigger a zap, to send that information over to another app.
  • Newsletter Published: If a newsletter is published in Letterhead, you can trigger a zap that performs a specific action in a connected app.  For example, when a newsletter is published, you can send an email to an advertiser.
  • Newsletter Scheduled: If a newsletter is scheduled in Letterhead, you can trigger a zap that performs a specific action in a connected app.  For example, when a newsletter is scheduled, you can send a Slack message to the editor.
  • Promotion campaign created: If a promotion is created in Letterhead, you can trigger a Slack to let your publisher know to approve it.

  • Promotion campaign details updated: If a campaign is updated in Letterhead, you can trigger a Slack to let your publisher know to approve the changes to the campaign.

  • Campaign promotion changed: If a single promotion within a campaign is updated in Letterhead, you can trigger a Slack to let your publisher know to review the updates.

  • Promotion campaign status changed: If a promotion status is updated in Letterhead, you can trigger an email to let the advertiser know.

What actions can the Letterhead Zap perform?

  • Add or Update Audience Member in Letterhead: When an audience member is added or changed in another app, add or update the audience member in Letterhead.  Here you can find the list of audience profile fields available.
  • Add Audience Member to Tag: When an audience member is updated in another app, add a tag to the audience member in Letterhead. 
  • Remove Audience Member From Tag: When an audience member is updated in another app, remove a channel-specific tag from the audience member in Letterhead.
  • Add Content to CurationsAdd a URL to a post, page, or other piece of content on the web to save to your curations library, which will be available when you are working on  your newsletter in Letterhead.
