How do I personalize my newsletters to my audience members?

Learn how to use the information you have gathered from your audience in your newsletter.

Letterhead lets you personalize your newsletters by adding subscriber-specific details. To do this, use personalization tags such as {{ firstName }}

For example, writing “Hi {{ firstName }} ,” in your newsletter will automatically display each subscriber’s first name when they receive it.

Please review this complete list of merge tags to see what is available.

You can also add a default value to personalization tags to ensure your message still looks complete when certain subscriber data is missing.
For example, using {{ firstName or 'Subscriber' }}will show the subscriber’s first name if it’s available. If not, it will automatically display ‘Subscriber’ instead.

Please note: personalized tags won’t appear when you send a test email. These tags will only populate with the actual subscriber information once the letter is published and sent to your audience. This helps ensure each recipient sees content tailored specifically to them.
