Letterhead's Recipient Validation

Recipient Validation is a built-in feature that helps ensure your subscriber list stays clean by verifying the validity of new email addresses.

✅ What It Does

Once enabled, Recipient Validation runs automatically as a daily background process.

Here’s how it works:

  • Automatically Validates New Subscribers
Any email addresses added via import or through your archive page will be automatically checked and validated before being added to your audience list.

  • Runs Daily
The validation process runs every 24 hours and only targets subscribers that haven’t already been validated.

  • Reduces Risk & Maintains List Health
This helps prevent sending to invalid or mistyped addresses, which can harm your sender reputation and increase bounce rates.

🚫 What It Doesn’t Do

  • Custom Signup Pages Are Not Supported
Validation does not apply to email addresses submitted through custom-built signup forms.

  • No Re-Validation of Existing Subscribers
Once a subscriber is validated, they are not re-validated in future runs. Only new, unvalidated entries are checked.

💡 Why Use It?

Enabling Recipient Validation helps:

  • Improve your email deliverability

  • Protect your sender reputation

  • Avoid sending to invalid or fake addresses

  • Reduce bounce-related suppression and email delivery issues
