What is Report in newsletter?

This article explains how Report in newsletter works

Report or Metrics in newsletter measures the performance and effectiveness of the newsletter.

At the top of the report, you will see the selected Audience, name of the Subject, Preview text of the newsletter and Published date

In the report, there are different sections.

  • Content
  • Engagement
  • Delivery metrics
  • Links
  • Opens by Country

Inside Content there we have:

    • Readability means the higher the score, the more readable your content is to a general audience. A lower score doesn't mean the content is bad; it may just be for a more technical or niche audience. Use this just as a guide to making sure your speaking to a wide audience.
    • Time to read this is the estimated time to read the newsletter.

For Engagement, we measure 9 items:

    • Emails sent:  number of emails Letterhead mailed in total
    • Legacy open rate: percentage of top pixels rendered from email sent.  This is the traditional open rate by newsletter services, but it is not an accurate metric of confirmed humans engaging with your content
    • Initial renders: number of times emails were displayed, as recorded by top open pixels
    • Total Clicks: number of times links were clicked across all emails
    • Unsubscribes: recipients who clicked a tagged unsubscribe link or used the List Unsubscribe header
    • Open rate: percentage of unique recipients confirmed to have opened the newsletter
    • Clickthrough rate: percentage of emails that had at least one line selected
    • Unique confirmed opens: numbers of emails displayed or had a link clicked. Approximately with a 5% error threshold
    • Unique clicks: number of emails that had at least one link click

There are 3 items measured in Delivery metrics:

    • Delivered: number of emails Letterhead confirms were received by recipients' mailboxes
    • Bounces: number of bounced emails
    • Accepted: number of emails delivered that didn't subsequently bounce

Links: show links have been clicked

If a subscriber has turned off images or blocked pixel rendering in their email client. We register opens through pixels. If they have blocked them, we cannot record the open.

Open by Country: shows list of countries that have the most opens.
